Wow! Time flew and there’s only 14 days left! We are so excited! Today we will be having our final shower/pre-celebration and we are super excited! Thank you Zach and Jennie for being amazing and throwing this for us! You guys are fabulous! =)
Well let’s see mostly everything is under control… Last week I almost wrote a different post titled “Brandon doesn’t have a tux” but after re-reading it seemed way to bitter! lol So I opted to wait. Thankfully, now he does have a tux and has gotten that somewhat squared away and he will look good, as always… 😉
I can’t believe the journey is almost over and our BIG day is almost here! I’m so excited! Unfortunately, we didn’t make use of this blog as much as we wanted. When we started we wanted to write about the whole wedding process and laugh at ourselves and rant about all the evil money sucking companies that double or triple the price when you say the word “wedding.” We wanted to vent about how tedious and ridiculous some wedding stuff can be. But you never know what has been planned for you… for those of you who know me well know what a bitter-sweet journey this has been for me. My mother has polymyositis, a persistent muscle inflammatory disease that causes weakness in the muscles. The disease progresses over time and eventually takes over most of the muscles in the body. She was officially diagnosed with it about 4 years ago but it wasn’t until 8 months ago that her symptoms really took a turn for the worse. In a matter of 6 months she has lost most of her strength in her arms and her legs. It is difficult for her to even stand up from a chair. The hard part is that if you knew my mother she LOVES to dance and is usually the last (wo)man standing on the dance floor! She has worn 4″-5″ heels since she was 16. But all of that is different now and is extremely hard to deal with at times. Anyway, I don’t mean to make this a sad blog by any means but I wanted everyone to know and and ask you to keep us in your thoughts and prayers and ask for God to provide us with the strength and courage we need to be able to get through this very difficult time while keeping a positive attitude and enjoying every minute we continue to have my mother. =)
As far as the BIG PACHANGA for the wedding, we are eager to see all of your beautiful faces here celebrating with us! Just as an FYI, please let us know if you plan to hang out on Sunday, we will be having menudo at our house for the hang-over cure. On Saturday, please make sure to plan ahead and allow plenty of driving time to make sure you get to the venue on time, traffic can be tricky (aka horrible) in Austin 7 days/week. We will be starting right on time to ensure we get enough dancing time! So please be on time!
For other planning purposes here is our address:
3502 Basford Rd.
Austin, TX 78722
We look forward to seeing every single one of you there!
Wow! Only 47 days to go to our Big Day! We are so excited! It has been quite an adventure for us… If you hadn’t heard our last news we just recently had to move. Our landlord at our previous place sold the house we were living in and had 30 days to move out! Thankfully, we are blessed with amazing neighbors and were able to quickly find a place to live. We moved into our new place right across the street from our old place with the help of family, neighbors, and friends. Even though our new place needs lots and lots of TLC (no one has lived in it for over 5 years) we are nevertheless grateful that we did not have to go house hunting, hire movers, and do all that craziness. It has been a crazy adventure and yet another proven test that we are made for each other… because I can not imagine any other move in my life that has been so easy regardless of the short notice.
For all the ladies; I have my dress already and it’s hidden away in a closet!! I secretly wish I could wear it daily though just because I feel so good in it! Also, I will be taking my bridal portraits soon so send me pretty vibes.. 🙂
Bachelorette and Bachelor Parties are coming up soon!
Oh yes! Invitations have been mailed! If you haven’t received it yet, it should be arriving soon. Please feel free to RSVP whichever way is most convenient to you. We are ecstatic about being able to share our special day with every single one of you!
Have you ever received a “save the date” card that changed your life? That impacted you in a way that made you want to keep it forever and ever? Aside from the one we received from you, we haven’t either. Plus, the money saved by foregoing “save the date” cards will buy more than a few libations for the reception…Priorities! So we decided to create this site in an effort to provide information about when, where and how nuptial-related events will be going down and as a general informational resource. We’ll provide information about the location of the exclusive event with maps/directions, hotel options, places to check out while you’re in town, our registry and other information that might be useful. We also hope to provide some updates along the way and maybe a few humorous anecdotes about the blissful process of wedding planning.
We hope you find the blog useful and we look forward to celebrating with you on April 7th!
